But Guy's interests are not confined to what lies beneath the earth. He holds a lifelong love of nature and in particular the Canadian Rockies. In the late 1990s, it was this love that led him and three partners to acquire 600 acres of pristine Rocky Mountain wilderness just to the east of Banff National Park in Canmore, Alberta, and to reserve 200 of those acres as wildlife corridors in perpetuity. This was the genesis of Silvertip Resort, named for the Silvertip Grizzly. Later, the group also acquired Eagle Ranch in Invermere, British Columbia. In 1993, inspired by an ancient creek bed on the slope of Silvertip, the company that holds both of these resorts become known as Stone Creek Properties. The name was later changed to Stone Creek Resorts.

Today, Guy Turcotte is not only Chairman, President and CEO, and majority investor of Stone Creek Resorts Inc, but also the lead visionary behind the project. As a family man, business owner, and most importantly, a proud Canmore homeowner, his unwavering focus is to ensure every action taken at Silvertip is in harmony with, and inspired by, the land itself. From highway to village to pinnacle, the resort, by nature and design, will locals and visitors alike access to one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
